Syfy's The Expanse Q&A

Expanse-q a

The Expanse is coming to Syfy soon, and the cast is starting to make the rounds in order to promote the new series! One of their many stops includes San Diego Comic-Con, and, luckily, Wikia has a chance to talk with them so we want to know what questions YOU want asked! Please note that we will only have a limited amount of time, so there's no telling how many questions we'll be able to get through.

From The Expanse, Steven Strait (Holden), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Avasarala), Cas Anvar (Alex Kamal), Dominique Tipper (Naomi Nagata) and Wes Chatham (Amos Burton) will be there!

Start submitting your questions below (let us know if it's directed to any one person in particular) and we'll try our best to get some answers!

Shohreh, can you give any hints as to Avasarala's role at the start of the series, as she doesn't show up until book 2 in the novels.

Ty & Dan - What is something that you wrote that has been most satisfying to see on-screen?

Actors - What is your favorite set, costume, or prop?

Will there be any concept art revealed in the months leading up to December?

I'd love to see how close my imagination was to matching the Roci, Hand Terminals, Tycho, the Nauvoo, etc.

Ty & Dan - Is there any chance we'll see "Drive" as a stand-alone ebook?

For any of the actors involved: Besides the novels, and the script, where do you draw inspiration for the character that you're playing?

It was just released for free as an online website, at least :) http://www.syfy.com/theexpanse/drive/

Are we going to see some "space Mormons" in the series?

Read it this afternoon. It's a great prequel.

Something I'm wondering about, questions directed to Corey if possible, or anyone who knows.

Mars has all the best toys, makes the most technological advances, and has a massive terraforming project going. How do the martians pay for all this? What kind of industry are they running to keep all those wheels turning? Doesn't the MCR government ever get backlash from their citizens?

Would you say Mars is closer to a democracy or a technocracy?

Many thanks in advance!
