TV Characters Page Structure

After some thinking, I have come to the conclusion that all TV Character pages need to be structured as follows:

  • Infobox; (duh...)
  • General details, beginning with the character's name in bold (James R. Holden is the ...);
  • Biography section, including:
    • Background, a summary of the character's life prior to the beginning of the series (S01, E01);
    • Throughout the series, a subsection detailing every season, summarizing the character's actions in that respective season in a few lines (no more than 10-12 PER EPISODE! );

N.B. This section is to be formatted as a tabber, unless the character appears in only one episode, in which case the "Throughout the series" subheader will turn into "Season <number>", where <number> is to be replaced with the number of the season the episode in which the character appears belongs to.

  • Personality section, detailing the character's personality;
  • Relationships section (optional, but highly recommended), detailing the character's relationships with other characters;
  • Trivia section (optional), stating several 'fun facts' about the character;
  • Media section (not completely mandatory, but extremely highly recommended), a gallery.

Example of how NOT to begin a character's page:

When we first meet James "Jim" Holden he has been enjoying the relative lack of responsibility that comes with being the 2nd officer on a remote ice hauler. Born on Earth, he left after being kicked out of Earth's Navy and has run to one of the most remote places in the solar system onboard the Canterbury. As events unfold he soon becomes the the captain of the Rocinante. Raised to be moral and responsible, once he has taken on a cause, he feels honor bound to see it through.

Example of how to correctly begin a character's page:

James "Jim" Holden is the captain of the Rocinante. Originating from Earth, he left the planet after being kicked out of Earth's Navy.

Please be as objective as possible when writing a character's page!!!

If you have any questions, please leave them here or on my wall.

The history of the UNSC is canon. Why? Because humanity's history, even the present, is canon to The Expanse, both the TV series and the book series. That includes every single event that ever happened or is currently happening.

Therefore, nothing written on the UNSC's page is non-canon or speculative.

Speculation is any information for TV characters that cannot be derived from the TV series, official interviews with actors, producers, etc. or the books. Please note that information can be extracted from the novels as long as it does not conflict information stated in the TV series. The order of canon material for the TV series is as follows: TV > Interviews > Books > any other source.

By contrast, TV canon is all information that can be derived from the TV series, official interviews with actors, producers, etc. or the books, as long as it does not conflict 100% official affirmations from the show.

I'll make guides for other subjects, too.

(I just want to put what you indicated and Mystic indicated side by side, so I can compare and contrast).

Based on a first blush reading, there does not seem to be any contradiction between the two passages

The UN SC is clearly a future analog to the current UN SC and has the same name. You can't say that about the Church of Humanity Ascendant.

Also, using the Melissa S. character page as a citation would be like Wikipedia using itself as a citation.

I just found something:

I found daniel abraham's webpage and Ty Franck gave a shoutout to the expanse wiki:

http://www.danielabraham.com/2013/08/29/seriously-we-know/

Look how Ty Franck, did not object to the word Humanism.

You would think that if the word were objectionable, he would be quite clear on the matter

Humanity Ascendent is closely related to humanism

You're just stretching. This is why I don't want to argue with you. You will take the slimmest justification as if it is rock solid, because it's what you want.

Are you disputing Ty Franck, the novel's author

A quote from an author is the highest level of authority:

Wait, let's be clear, you said you did not want to have this conversation anymore, and I respected that and you walked away, but then you walked back it when one of the admin's  made a ruling you jump back in, "you were curious".

Sword cuts both ways, you were deadset in believing the Humanism is speculative from the start, and you have not provided criteria on how you could be swayed otherwise.

Maybe your not famiilar with how such thought evolved over the centuries, that is fine. But you should have disclosed that. You are not doing anyone any favors ruling on something your not familiar with, or for that matter not making the effort to learn.

Look at the Church of the Human Ascendent page:

"Human Ascendent" vs "humanism"

" "Humans can be better than they are..." vs  "...movement emphasized an an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings ..."

The words are so closely related, that it is hard to believe a connection  does not exist

You are what's known as a "fairweather friend"

I'll wait for MysticalArchAngel's ruling. You can call me whatever you want.
