Star Wars Universe VS The Expanse Universe

Having somwhat of an obession with The Expanse, when I watch Star Wars Rogue One, the man designing the Death Star, General Hux, instantly reminded me of a Sociopath we all know Dresden!

That also got me thinking that both ,niverse's and how they both revolve around sociopaths researching weapon projects.

Except Star Wars is Sci-Fa aka science fantasy, so General Hux could have been a lime green mouse and the Death Star could be powered by french fries. ;-)

While I do enjoy The Expanse's realistic view of technology and G forces, they do have the protomolecule which could be the force. :)

protomolecule would be more like midichorians but not really.

the force is everywhere in the Star Wars universe.

the protomolecule is not everywhere.... yet. It can only operate within some limited range.

There is no talk about g-forces

the population density of sociopaths in the Expanse might be a little higher than in Star Wars.

Expanse Star Wars
Antony Dresden Emperor (Senator Palpatine)
Marco Inaros General Hux
Paolo Cortázar
Anderson Dawes
Jules-Pierre Mao
Winston Duarte
Hutch
Filat Kothari
Strickland
Martens (TV)
Errinwright (Books)(TV?)
Augusto Nguyễn
Adolphus Murtry

I think Nguyen is more of a sociopath than Staz

So you don't consider most of the Empire sociopaths? Interesting...

Also putting Nguyen in there is a bit unfair. You should add Staz to the list.

Most of the empire are slaves, mercenaries or clones.

The mercenaries could probably be converted the same way Cotyar was.

The clones are probably mindless drones so you're probably correct they're sociopaths the same way Finn is.

But, I don't know all that much.  I grew to like Star Trek a little better despite the nostalgic childhood memories of Star Wars.

Sociopaths in Star Wars could be the Emperor, General Hux, probaly any key player that didnt prevent the death start from being built. General Hux seems to simular  temperment to Dresden, about killing people, to further his reseaerch.

The same. I actually saw the first Star Wars in the theater when it came out. Star Wars is a great and fun movie, but has very little reality to it. While The Expanse is definitely fictional and somewhat fantastical, it has many more elements that are possible.

There really aren't that many sci-fi shows that you can compare to The Expanse. One might be Space 1999, but it didn't seem to have the breadth and boy was it booorrring.
