[BA SPOILERS] Underwhelmed by...

So Fred has been one my favorite characters in the series, maybe even my favorite. Was anyone else very underwhelmed by his death "scene". The way that he dies is fine, but we didnt get any great last words or something to put a stamp on his arc. He was a great leader, and eventhough he was flawed, i would have liked a much grander send off than just a little self refelection time by avasarala. I mean come on, he wasnt a main 4 character, but he was pretty damn major.

Any thoughts?

I can't think of any way that he'd get great last words and not have it be contrived and unrealistic within the situation's context.

If he was brought to the strange dogs on laconia there would've been a chance for him to get those words...

I was shocked when his demise was spoiled for me months back.

Bobbie kills Fred. (with high g manuvers).. anyways I always liked Dawes last words for Fred. I remember off the top of my head saying that the most religous thing present at the memorial was a Tycho Station logo.

Alex is operating the ship.  Bobbie alone could not have made those high-g maneuvers.

Fred was great in Nemesis Games. One of the main reasons why it's my second favorite book in the series...

Alex handed fire control over to Bobbie, with full control of the ship, my assumption is that he stroked out when the Roci was making 180 degree turns to fire of the railgun. Although the culmalative effect of all the rough manuvers with Alex piloting probably dont help either.

Bobbie gave Alex "firing solutions" which he in turn confirmed.  She didn't have direct control of the ship.  My understanding of these solutions were a sequence of instructions mainly geared toward the weapons used but included positioning maneuvers and adjustments.  Alex still had final say.  Bobbie never had independent full control

Book 1 LW is still my number one currently. There was something about Miller that I loved reading about. The whole sci-fi noir stuff was great and he was very well developed. Holden stuff was good too.

For me, NG reigns supreme. What about characters? Who did you like most?

Everyone was great in NG. I really liked Alex's arc and why he had to return to Mars, to mend old wounds. Actually would have like a little more to it..Amos and clarissa walking a ravaged Earth was badass lol id read an entire book on how they survive together. And then the intro to Marco introduced a whole new level of conflict and drama. Now thinking about, NG may be my favorite lol
