The MCRN Karakum was a Corvette-class light frigate of the Martian Congressional Republic Navy (MCRN).

The Karakum was assigned as a Black Operations ship operating in the Belt and outer planets.
Events[]
“You can't go home” — The Karakum was dispatched to the Jovian moon of Ganymede, following the Martian takeover of Ganymede Station and establishment of a no-fly zone around the moon. The ship was ordered to land on the moon's surface close to the lab in which the Hybrid was created, with its flight plan broadcast to all MCRN vessels in the system with instructions not to interfere with the vessel under any circumstances.[1]
Destruction[]
The ship was to have taken control of Project Caliban materials for the MCR (Martian Congressional Republic), however it was ultimately destroyed by United Nations Navy (UNN) forces acting under the orders of United nations Undersecretary Sadavir Errinwright (or by MCRN on Errinwright's orders who pretended to be MCR Defense Minister) before it could reach its destination.
The ship's destruction would accelerate the breakdown and collapse of Ganymede Station and would trigger a new round of fighting between UN (United Nations) and MCR forces in the Jovian System and lead to the UN-MCR War.[2]
