The Giambattista is transport ship of the Outer Planets Alliance.

Description

Giambattista is a converted water hauler that was large, boxy, and awkward looking. It was longer than the Canterbury, thicker in the middle, with scores of massive storage cells open to vacuum where is stored harvested ice.

The ship was provided to the Consolidated Fleet Offensive by the Ostman-Jasinzki faction of the OPA.

Events

The Giambattista was at Tycho Station during the Free Navy Conflict as Ostman-Jasinzki was attending a meeting of Outer Planets Alliance factions that had not joined the Free Navy.

After these factions joined the Consolidated Fleet Offensive the Giambattista travelled towards the Sol gate escorted by Rocinante. With the Free Navy being engaged across the entire Sol system in the Consolidated Fleet Offensive it was planned that these two ships would go undetected.

Upon reaching the gate the Giambattista began firing nearly 4000 non-Epstein ships, "chemical rockets or compressed-gas thrusters" into the slow zone at Medina Station. One of these however was actually a strike craft aimed at Ring Station to capture its railguns.

The battle was successful and the ship entered the slow zone. With a final Free Navy offensive heading directly towards them the Giambattista entered an opposite gate a moment before to cause the Free Navy ships to go Dutchman and vanish.
