History[]

Slow Zone Incident[]

Full article:Slow Zone incident

During the expedition to the Ring, the Thomas Prince carried a civilian delegation which included Annushka Volovodov. After the destruction of the UNN Seung Un and the broadcast of the phony message in which James Holden claimed responsibility for the ship's destruction, the Thomas Prince target locked the Rocinante and prepared to fire in retaliation. The ship's commander agreed to briefly refrain from firing and allow the OPAS Behemoth to destroy the ship to prove that OPA was not involved in the Seung Un's destruction.

When the Rocinante, OPA fleet, and MCRN fleet entered the Slow Zone, the Thomas Prince followed with the UNN fleet after offloading most of its civilian passengers. Later, when the Ring Station cut the top speed of travel in the Slow Zone, the Thomas Prince was subjected to instant deceleration, resulting in high casualties on board. The ship was then trapped by the Ring Station until it shut down its fusion reactor followed by the rest of the flotilla, convincing the station to lower its defenses and release the ships. Afterwards, the Thomas Prince traveled back through the Ring with the rest of the flotilla.
