This article is about a word in the Belter Creole language.

Welwala-Belter Creole panel

Noun Edit

  1. (pejorative) person obsessed with the gravity well or the inner planets' culture; "planet-lover"

Etymology Edit

wel "gravity well" (English) + wala "person" (Hindi)

Notes Edit

In Dulcinea, Miller translates the word to Havelock as "traitor to my people". Though this is not the literal meaning, it may carry that connotation, as many Belters have little love for the inners who oppress them.
